Mission
The mission of the Shrine of the Black Madonna Sanctuary is to commit to the Black community through word, deed, and other actions to enhance its greater spiritual, social, economic, educational, and cultural development.
Goal
The goal of the SBMS is to establish an independent, organized group of Black people, in concert with other Black organizations, for the purpose of enhancing societal norms, values, and heritage in order to leverage power for the benefit of the greater number of Black masses.
Vision & Values
The vision and values of the SBMS include valuing education, social justice, personal and community development and focusing on dispensation of Black historical information and education through a social ministry as well as belief in worship and spirituality, humanity, and the genius of Black people.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Objective 1
To foster knowledge of our ethic culture.
Objective 2
To encourage appreciation of the African-American family.
Objective 3
To enhance awareness of our role in the development of community and friendships.
Objective 4
To increase the appropriate and practical use of time, work habits and money
Objective 5
To direct our interest and attitudes towards creative self-expression through theater, multi-media initiatives and movie making, African dance and drumming, the spoken word, poetry, song, essays and narratives.
