Fauquier Baptist Church, a spirit led, and loving church located in the heart of Goochland County for over 150 years, is committed to building a better relationship with God through Service. We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Senior Pastor to lead our congregation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to ministry, leadership, teaching, and an overall desire to fulfill the Great Commission by growing the community of Christ.
Principle Responsibilities:
These responsibilities should include but not be limited to:
- Develop and deliver engaging, biblically based sermons during worship services and special programs.
- Provide spiritual and visionary leadership and guidance.
- Provide pastoral care (biblical instruction, conduct funerals, weddings, visitation, etc.) to the congregation through times of need.
- Represent the church in community outreach, community service and interfaith activities.
- Oversee and collaborate with the church ministries to build relationships and promote compassion and community within the church.
- Oversee the spiritual health and growth of the church.
- Teaching and providing opportunities for the congregation to learn Christian doctrine, Biblical studies, and ethical living.
- Discipleship and mentoring to promote spiritual maturity among church members of all age groups.
- Lead efforts to promote evangelism and missions.
- Provide leadership for and assist in coordinating the activities of the church.
- Engage and lead prayer and intercession for the congregation, community, and global issues.
- Ability to resolve conflict biblically.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, fair and approachable to all members.
- Exhibits a sense of calling and passion for collaborating with people and valuing the insights of all age groups.
- Performs other duties as required by the church leaders and/or congregation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Called by God to shepherd and lead his flock
- Licensed minister with one to five years of church ministry experience
- College/professional school with seminary attendance preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Deep commitment to ministry (preaching and teaching)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of social media and other technology platforms
- Solid understanding of Baptist polity, doctrine, and beliefs.
