Celebrating 50+ Years of Marriage and the Renewal of Vows
The day finally arrived! On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Brother John Johnson and Sister Dianne Johnson were surrounded by family, friends, church members, and loved ones as they renewed their marriage vows, celebrating more than fifty years of love, faith, commitment, and devotion to one another.
The colors of lavender and tan beautifully set the atmosphere as the couple made their way down the aisle, meeting our Pastor Charle G. Gilliam III with anticipation and smiles. This special occasion was a joyful reminder of God’s sustaining grace and the strength of a marriage built on faith. As they stood together once again and reaffirmed the promises they made so many years ago, those in attendance witnessed a living example of enduring love, perseverance, and dedication.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was when Brother John and Sister Dianne “jumped the broom” symbolizing the continuation of their journey together and the renewal of the covenant they have faithfully honored for more than fifty years.
Following the renewal ceremony, the fellowship hall was filled with laughter, joy, and thanksgiving as everyone gathered to celebrate this remarkable milestone and expressed their best wishes to the happy couple. To top off the occasion, family friends and guests enjoyed delicious, sweet treats beautiful arranged in colors of beige with a hint of lavender while sharing cherished memories, heartfelt stories, and viewed the photos of John and Diannne when they first got married.
