Pastor Job Summary
Our church is currently seeking a Pastor to lead our congregation and provide spiritual counseling. In this role, you will draft and deliver sermons, oversee prayer groups, and develop programs that exemplify and encourage faith in our religious ideals. You will also plan community activities and assist with outreach efforts. Since you will be a public representative of our faith, you must have a deep understanding and passion for the beliefs of our church. Our ideal applicant will obtain their MDiv from a seminary and gain experience as an assistant or associate pastor, although the only strict requirement is church ordination.
Pastor Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual guidance to congregants
- Serve as a church leader, positively and consistently representing our faith
- Draft and deliver sermons
- Assist with community outreach
- Oversee prayer or bible groups
- Develop programs to encourage spiritual growth
- Plan religious activities and events
Pastor Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in theology or divinity (preferred)
- Church ordination
- Deep understanding and passion for our faith
- Experience working for the church as an assistant or associate pastor
- Experience writing and delivering sermons
- Oral presentation skills
